Mary was born in 1734 in Oakley, Hampshire and her christening took place there on December 27th, 1734.1 2   Mary's father was William Oliver and her mother was Mary. She had four brothers and four sisters, named William, John, James, Thomas, Elizabeth, Hannah, Dinah and Esther.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.
