Robert was born in 1827.1   Robert's father was Isaac Newton and his mother was Elizabeth Gendall.  His paternal grandparents were William Newton and Frances Drew. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, Isaac, Elizabeth, Fanny and Julia.  He was the third oldest of the six children.
