Isaac was born in 1797 in Penzance, Cornwall and his christening took place there on November 19th, 1797.1 2   Isaac's father was William Newton and his mother was Frances Drew.  His paternal grandparents were William Newton and Isabella Cornish. He had a brother and seven sisters, named John, Mary, Mary, Frances, Anne, Eleanor, Grace and Johanna.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 74 in September 1871 in Helston, Cornwall.3
