Wiliam was born in 1836 in Somerset.1   Wiliam's father was James Laver and his mother was Angel Cottle. He had five sisters named Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Charlotte, Sarah and Sarah.  He was the youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 40 in 1876.
