Jean was born on January 11th, 1705 in Luneray, SEINE-MARITIME, France and his christening took place there on January 12th, 1705.1   Jean's father was Pierre Lardant and his mother was Jeanne du Bosc.  His paternal grandmother was Madeleine Follenfant. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Pierre, Louis, Jacques, Elizabeth, Marie, Marguerite and Marie Anne.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.
