William Kemp

William was born in 1851 in Great Waltham, Essex and his christening took place there on May 4th, 1851.¹² William's father was Thomas Kemp and his mother was Maria Olley. His paternal grandparents were John Kemp and Elizabeth Bentall; his maternal grandparents were John Olley and Jane Shonk. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Joseph, George, Frederick, Walter, Margaret, Eliza and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the ten children.
