Eliza was born in 1848 in Great Waltham, Essex and her christening took place there on December 3rd, 1848.1 2   Eliza's father was Thomas Kemp and her mother was Maria Olley.  Her paternal grandparents were John Kemp and Elizabeth Bentall; her maternal grandparents were John Olley and Jane Shonk. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named William, Thomas, John, Joseph, George, Frederick, Walter, Margaret and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 68 in 1916 in Romford, Essex.3
