Rhoda Kemp

Rhoda was born in 1855 in Priest Lane, Shenfield, Essex.¹ Rhoda's father was William Kemp and her mother was Frances Knight. Her paternal grandparents were John Kemp and Elizabeth Bentall. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Frederick, William, France, Hannah, Ellen and Mary. She was the third youngest of the seven children.

  Born at Priest Lane, Shenfield. Mum remembers the house - it was a wooden shack, with a huge garden where vegetables were grown. She used to visit Rhoda who lived there. When the shack was pulled down, Rhoda was moved to Queen St in Brentwood. In 1881 was cook for Charles H.R. HARRISON a widow and his family. Charles was a surgeon and lived at 55 Stockwell Road, Lambeth, Surrey, There was also a housemaid Mary A Kemp born Shenfield age 19 born 1862 who ,may have been Rhodas sister. Possibly has a daughter Dorothy? married name Green.
