John James Horncastle

John's father was James Raphael Horncastle and his mother was Emma Elizabeth Ilott. His paternal grandparents were Thomas James Horncastle and Elizabeth Ritchie; his maternal grandparents were John Samuel Ilott and Emma Elizabeth Morgan. He had a brother and three sisters, named James, Elizabeth, Emma and Mary. He was the third oldest of the five children. He had four half-brothers named James, Benjamin, Thomas and Alfred. He died at 8 months old in September 1890 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex.²
