John Horncastle

John was born in September 1897 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex.¹ John's father was John Francis Horncastle and his mother was Emma Elizabeth Webb. His paternal grandparents were Samuel John Horncastle and Elizabeth Howard Richardson. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, George, Edward, Emma, Caroline, Eliza and Sophia. He was the oldest of the eight children.
