Sarah was born on April 28th, 1850 in Stepney, Middlesex and her christening took place on May 19th, 1850 in Saint Peters, Stepney, Middlesex.1 2   Sarah's father was John Faber and her mother was Lucy Bengough.  Her maternal grandparents were Robert Bengough and Lucy Hasey. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John, Charles, George, John, Henry, Lucy, Mary, Emma, Martha and Elizabeth.  She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.
