Ann was born in 1802 in Eling, Hampshire and her christening took place there on January 24th, 1802.1 2   Ann's father was Robert Bromfield and her mother was Ann Plomley. She had five brothers and three sisters, named William, George, Henry, Frederick, Peter, Elizabeth, Mary and Ann.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  She died in 1802.
