Alice was born in 1881 in Horsforth Yorkshire and her baptism took place on November 2nd, 1881 in St James Low Lane Horsforth Yorkshire.1 2   Alice's father was James Jackson and her mother was Margaret Agnes Jackson.  Her paternal grandparents were David Jackson and Mary Ann Rhodes; her maternal grandparents are Isaac Nichols and Janet Miller. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Samuel, Fred, Harry, Thomas, Ellen, Mary Ann, Janet, Eva and Ada.  She is the seventh oldest of the ten children.
