James was born on August 24th, 1846 in Horsforth Yorkshire.1   James' father was David Jackson and his mother was Mary Ann Rhodes.  His paternal grandfather was David Jackson and his paternal grandmother is Ann Eastburn; his maternal grandfather is James Rhodes. He had three brothers and six sisters, named John, David, Samuel, Mary, Eliza, Elizabeth, Mary A, Susannah and Sarah A.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 66 in 1912 in Horsforth Yorkshire.  His burial was on August 13th, 1912 in Horsforth Cemetary Yorkshire.2 2
