Jane was born in November 1740 in Barking Essex and her christening took place on November 12th, 1740 at St Margaret's Barking.1   Jane's father was Henry Thredder and her mother was Jane Marchant.  Her paternal grandfather is Henry Thredder (Fisherman) and her paternal grandmother was Jane Moungall (confirmed NicMoungal Will); her maternal grandparents are Thomas Marchant (Jnr) and <Unknown>. She had six brothers named Henry, Henry, Nicholas, John, Joseph and William.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.
