Henry was born in September 1737 in Barking Essex and his christening took place on September 10th, 1737 at St Margaret's Barking.1   Henry's father was Henry Thredder and his mother was Jane Marchant.  His paternal grandfather is Henry Thredder (Fisherman) and his paternal grandmother was Jane Moungall (confirmed NicMoungal Will); his maternal grandparents are Thomas Marchant (Jnr) and <Unknown>. He had five brothers and a sister, named Henry, Nicholas, John, Joseph, William and Jane.  He was the oldest of the seven children.
