Brittania Jane CHAMPLIN

Brittania Jane was born on October 26th, 1831. Brittania Jane's father was Francis Cole CHAMPLIN and her mother was Rachel GIBBENS. Her paternal grandparents were Ebenezer CHAMPLIN and Margaret SMITH; her maternal grandparents were John C. GIBBENS and Katherine HOROBAUGH. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named Jefferson G., Orrison, Calvin, Nancy, Lorinda C., Arminda, Bernis, Carolina, Sophronia and Jerusha. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 43 on August 16th, 1875.

  Brittania Jane Champlin, daughter of Francis Cole Champlin and Rachel Gibbons, was born on October 26, 1831 in Ohio and died on August 16, 1875 in Carter County, Kentucky.
  
      On February 22, 1852, Brittania married Reverend Charles Alexander Price (who had been born in Virginia during February of 1828) and they had eight children:

  Perry F. Price was born in Vinton County, Ohio and became a doctor, residing in Milo (Warren County) Iowa. On March 5, 1876 he married Elizabeth J. Murray of Carter County, Kentucky. Elizabeth was born in Alabama on April 7, 1860. Perry came to Iowa on March 26, 1885 and enrolled in the Medical College at Des Moines.

  Warren C. Price married Lucinda A. Abrams of Carter County, Kentucky on March 26, 1876. He died on March 12, 1882 in Boyd County, Kentucky. Warren and Lucinda had four children.
          Randolph S. Price was born in Wood County, Virginia. In         the fall of 1884 he married Kate Anthony and they had             five children. Randolph was a carpenter in Jackson             County, Ohio.
  
          Adrian Price died as an infant.
  
  Joseph Champlin Price was born in Virginia on October 22, 1862 and died at Detroit, Michigan on November 7, 1931. He was buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery there. He had been a miner in Wellston, Ohio.
  
  Joseph married Mildred Irene Stevison on June 28, 1898 in Jackson County, Ohio. Mildred, daughter of John Wilson Stevison and Lucinda Jane Howe, was born on August 1, 1877 in Jackson County, Ohio and died on November 18, 1932 in Iron County, Missouri.
  
  Joseph Champlin Price worked as a miner in Jackson County, Ohio. In c1908 the family removed to Benton (Franklin County) Illinois where he continued to work as a miner. When his health failed in the late 1920's and economic conditions grew worse, Joseph and Mildred     removed to Detroit to lived with daughter Garnet until his death. Mildred then removed to Iron County, Missouri and lived with daughter Brittania Jane (Price) Conner until her death in 1932. She was buried in the Murphy Cemetery at Riverside (Reynolds County) Missouri.
  
  Mildred Irene Stevison had been married once before to a Mr. Royal Dearth and had a son by him who was later adopted by her second husband, Joseph Champlin Price:

              Brittania Jane Price was born at Wellston (Jackson             County) Ohio. She died at Piedmont, Missouri on                 October 13, 1981 and was buried in the Franklin                 Cemetery (Franklin County) Illinois.
  
  She married Nelson A. Conner at Benton, Illinois on December 23, 1920 and bore him two children:
  
                  - Nelson Leroy (b.Sep 30, 1921)
                  - Robert Jean   (b.Feb 11, 1923)
  
  Nelson A. Conner, son of William Nelson Conner and Eliza Melvina Loucks, was born on June 10, 1898 in Franklin County, Illinois and died on August 9, 1970 in the Veteran's Hospital at Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
  
  In the early years of their marriage (1920-1927), Nelson worked as a miner in Franklin County, Illinois. They then removed to Chicago where Nelson was employed as a steelworker. In 1931, as a result of an industrial accident and the severe economic conditions, the family removed to a farm in Iron County, Missouri.
  
              Following WW-II, the family lived in Franklin                 County, Illinois. After Nelson retired, they                 returned to Piedmont, Missouri to live.
  
              Garnet Marie Price died in February 1991.
  
              Dorothy Gale Price died in October 1971.
  
          Charles F. Price was born in Virginia. On December 30,             1889 he married Elizabeth Knox of Jackson County, Ohio.         Elizabeth was born on October 2, 1871. Charles was a             miner and lived in Coalton, Ohio.
  
          Charles A. and Elizabeth (Knox) Price had children:
  
              - Hazel F.    (b.May 12, 1890)
              - William E. (b.Jan 26, 1893)
              - Phillip R. (b.Jan 15, 1895)
  
          Lewis G. Price died in infancy.
  
      Following Brittania's death, Charles married her older sister, Lorinda Champlin. Lorinda was a widow too and had fifteen children, which Charles Price "inherited" to go with the eight he fathered with Brittania!
