John's father was Samuel [1854-Altibrian;1865-Ballinrees;Dunalis-1868;1885-Ballystrone;] Clements and his mother was Jane [1854-Ballystrone;1897-Ballinteer] Finlay. His paternal grandparents were James [1828,1831,1850,1871-Altibrian] Clements and ???? ??Moore??; his maternal grandparents were John [1831,1841-Ballystrone] Finlay and Mary Anne McDougal. He had five brothers and a sister, named James, Samuel, Thomas, David, Thomas and Sarah.General Notes
Source: witness to the marriage of Sarah McClamont. Was he her brother and therefore a brother of my great grandfather, Samuel McClamont, who had a son called John? No record of a marriage or any births to him in 2nd Dunboe Presbyterian Church registers.
Found a Civil Record of his marriage on the Derry Genealogy Centre Index. Checked record which shows his father was indeed a Samuel McClamont and his witness was a Sarah Clarke (and a Robert Sinclair). He was a labourer as was his father. His residence at time of marriage was given as Blakes, Dunboe.
