Robert's father was Bryce Wright and his mother was Jean Turner.  His maternal grandparents were Peter Turner Sr. and Mary Russell. He had five brothers and a sister, named Peter, William, John, Bryce, James and Mary.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 4 on March 18th, 1848 in Shotts.
