Peter's father was Bryce Wright and his mother was Jean Turner.  His maternal grandparents were Peter Turner Sr. and Mary Russell. He had five brothers and a sister, named Robert, William, John, Bryce, James and Mary.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 3 on December 11th, 1852 in Kirkoswald.  He was buried in Girvan.^2 2
