Janet Catherine Thomson 
Janet was born in 1820 in Bathgate.1 Janet's father was James Thomson and her mother was Mary Bruce. Her maternal grandparents were William Bruce and Janet Newlands. She had five brothers and four sisters, named John, William, George, James, Archibald, Janet, Margaret, Mary and Catherine. She was the youngest of the ten children. She died whilst giving birth, syncope occured 17 days after birth of a child, at the age of 38 on September 23rd, 1858 in Dalmeny. She was buried in Bathgate.2 2 - Death Notes
