George's father was David Rollo and his mother was Agnes Brash.  His maternal grandparents were David Brash and Agnes Henderson. He had three brothers and three sisters, named David, Silvester, Nornan, Caroline, Jenny and Jessie.  He was the second youngest of the seven children.
