Agnes' father was David Brash and her mother was Agnes Henderson.  Her paternal grandparents were David Brash and Margaret Easton; her maternal grandparents were John Henderson and Jean Spears. She had four brothers and six sisters, named David, John, David, Alexander, Jean, Agnes, Margaret, Robina, Elizabeth and Magdalene.  She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 57 in 1876 in Angus.
