David's father was David Rollo and his mother was Agnes Brash.  His maternal grandparents were David Brash and Agnes Henderson. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Silvester, George, Nornan, Caroline, Jenny and Jessie.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 80 in 1928 in Angus.
