Ann's father was Thomas John Robertson and her mother was Catherine Cameron. Her paternal grandparents were William Robertson and Elspeth Thomson. She had three brothers and three sisters, named John, James, Robert, Margaret, Mary and Christina. She was the second youngest of the seven children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Thomas, William, Elizabeth and Euphemia. She died at the age of 10 in 1857 in Tradeston.
