Davidina's father was David Leithhead and her mother was Christina McGregor Robertson. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas John Robertson and Catherine Cameron. She had a brother and nine sisters, named Thomas, Mary, Bessie, Christina, Margaret, Jessie, Annie, Agnes, Jeanie and Harriet. She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 3 in 1883 in Kelvin.
