Henry's father was Alexander Dobie and his mother was Margaret Henderson.  His maternal grandparents were Archibald Henderson and Jean Brash. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named Alexander, Archibald, Robert, David, Thomas, Agnes, Helen, Jane, Margaret, Jessie, Janet and Jessie.  He was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 79 on March 27th, 1919 in Linlithgow.  He was buried in Linlithgow.^3 3
