John's father was John Davidson and his mother was Ann Wilson.  His maternal grandparents were John Wilson and Margaret Rennie. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Charles, <Unknown>, Margaret, Jessie and Annie.  He was the oldest of the six children. He had two half-sisters named Isabella and Mary.  He died at the age of 52 on November 28th, 1921 in Macduff.
