Elspeth's father was James (Jimmy) Craig and her mother was Margaret (Maggie) Elsie McIntyre. Her paternal grandparents were James Craig and Margaret (Maggie) Towers. She had two brothers and a sister, named Jim, Donald and Margaret. She was the oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 82 on February 4th, 1999 in Paisley. She was buried in Paisley.¹¹
