Donald's father was James (Jimmy) Craig and his mother was Margaret (Maggie) Elsie McIntyre. His paternal grandparents were James Craig and Margaret (Maggie) Towers. He had a brother and two sisters, named Jim, Elspeth and Margaret. He was the youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 90 on September 8th, 2015 in Montreal. The funeral took place on September 15th, 2015 in Montreal.²²
