James Mathie (Mathey)

James was born on April 11th, 1785 in Paisley and his baptism took place on April 17th, 1785 in Paisley Abbey parish.^1 2

James' father was John Mathie and his mother was Mary Brown. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, William, James, Robert, Margaret, Annie and Mary.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Bronchitis, duration 1 month, at the age of 72 on November 24th, 1857 in Paisley Abbey parish.  The funeral took place on November 26th, 1857 in Paisley and was arranged by James Anderson, Undertaker.  He was buried on November 26th, 1857 in Paisley Abbey parish.^3 1 3
