Susannah was born on February 12th, 1769.  Susannah's father was Col William Preston and her mother was Susannah Smith.  Her paternal grandparents were Col John Preston and Elizabeth Patton; her maternal grandparents were Francis Smith and Elizabeth Waddi. She had five brothers and six sisters, named John, Francis Smith, William, James Patton, Thomas Lewis, Elizabeth, Sarah, Mary, Letitia, Margaret Brown and Ann.  She died at the age of 64 on June 25th, 1833.
