Sara was born in May 1841.  Sara's father was James M. Marshall and her mother was Eliza Rush.  Her paternal grandparents were William Marshall and Mary C. Banes. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Mason, Thomas, Margaret and Rosa E..  She was the second oldest of the five children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William Abraham, James Phineas, John M., Susan Mary and Hester Ann.  She died at the age of 3 on April 15th, 1845.
