Mary was born in 1750.  Mary's father was Hugh Bingham and her mother was Martha Jane Armour.  Her paternal grandparents are Richard Bingham and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were John Armour and <Unknown>. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Robert, Hugh, Samuel, Thomas, William Bingham Biggam, Elizabeth, Agnes and Jane.  She was the youngest of the ten children.
