John was born in 1733 in County Down, Ireland.  John's father was Hugh Bingham and his mother was Martha Jane Armour.  His paternal grandparents are Richard Bingham and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were John Armour and <Unknown>. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Robert, Hugh, Samuel, Thomas, William Bingham Biggam, Elizabeth, Agnes, Jane and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 26 on December 18th, 1759 in Hamiltonban, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
