Hunydd Vech was born about 1055.  Hunydd Vech's father was Bleddyn ap Cynfyn and her mother is Haer verch Cillin.  Her paternal grandparents are Cynfyn ap Gwerystan and Angharad verch Maredydd; her maternal grandfather is Cynllyn ap Blaidd. She had five brothers and a sister, named Madog ap, Rhiryd ap, Maredydd ap, Cadwagan ap, Iorweth ap and Gwenllian Vech.  She is the youngest of the seven children.
