JOHN was born in 1197 in BREMBYE, SUSSEX.1 JOHN's father was WILLIAM 'THE YOUNGER' De BRAOSE and his mother was MAUD (MATILDA) De CLARE. His maternal grandparents were RICHARD De CLARE and AMICIA FITZWILLIAM. He had six brothers named RICHARD, ANTHONY, GILES, PHILLIP, WALTER and WILLIAM. He was the oldest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named JOHN, RHYS- MECHYLL, MAREDYD and MAUD. He died at the age of 35 on July 18th, 1232 in BREMBYE, SUSSEX.1 General Notes
