RHYS- MECHYLL Ap RHYS-GRYG

RHYS- MECHYLL was born in 1190 in CARMENTHENSHIRE, WALES.¹   RHYS- MECHYLL's father was RHYS-GRYG Ap GWENWYNWYN and his mother was MAUD (MATILDA) De CLARE.  His maternal grandparents were RICHARD De CLARE and AMICIA FITZWILLIAM. He had a brother named MAREDYD.  He was the older of the two children. He had eight half-brothers named JOHN, JOHN, RICHARD, ANTHONY, GILES, PHILLIP, WALTER and WILLIAM.  He died at the age of 54 in 1244.¹ 

‌RHYS- MECHYLL and MAUD (MATILDA) were married in a religious ceremony in 1230.²
