Ambrose was born on December 6th, 1763 in Amherst Co., VA, USA. Ambrose's father was Ambrose Rucker and his mother was Mary Tinsley. His paternal grandparents were John Rucker and Susannah; his maternal grandparents were Edward Tinsley and Margaret Talliaferro. He had three brothers and twelve sisters, named Ruben, Isaac, Benjamin, Winifred, Margaret Peggy, Molly, Frances Franky, Betty, Caroline, Sophia, Matilda, Sally, Charlotte, Peggy and Sarah Sallie. He was the sixth oldest of the sixteen children. He died at the age of 63 on August 19th, 1827 in Bedford Co, VA, USA.-
