Sarah Sallie was born about 1782 in Amherst Co., VA, USA. Sarah Sallie's father was Ambrose Rucker and her mother was Mary Tinsley. Her paternal grandparents were John Rucker and Susannah; her maternal grandparents were Edward Tinsley and Margaret Talliaferro. She had four brothers and eleven sisters, named Ruben, Ambrose, Isaac, Benjamin, Winifred, Margaret Peggy, Molly, Frances Franky, Betty, Caroline, Sophia, Matilda, Sally, Charlotte and Peggy. She was the youngest of the sixteen children.-
