Joe Rucker was born on April 14th, 1915 in Hart Co., GA, USA. Joe Rucker's father was Joel Grover Ford and his mother was Lois Rucker. His paternal grandparents were George Thomas Ford and Susan; his maternal grandparents were William Clayton Rucker and Ida Chasteen. He had three brothers and three sisters, named James Thomas, Grover Henry, William Clayton, Fannie Ida, Mary Frances and Cornelia Elizabeth. He died at the age of 43 on June 14th, 1958 in Hart Co., GA, USA. He was buried in Royston, GA, USA Rose Hill Cemetery.General Notes
(Reflections of Joe Ford by William C. Ford, Sr. Joe's son) Joe was a plumber and electrician and also a machinist. He died as a result of a short in an electric water pump at Ginns swimming pool. At the time of his death he was the Gas Superintendent for the City of Royston. He was a WW11 vet and served overseas in Italy in or about Naples. His rank was Staff Sergeant . He also worked in Toccoa at the Letourneau plant later to become Letourneau-Westinghouse. His first job was with Boyd Dilworth in Royston as a grocery clerk. He also farmed with his father Joel Grover Ford and brothers William and Henry. He was very tender hearted and would often cry at things I fear I have that same personality which were not particularity sad . I fear I have the same personality trait.
