His paternal grandparents were Charles Skaggs and Lucinda Thompson. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Lewis Byron, Stephen, John Thompson, Eleanor, Mary Lucretia, Susan E. and Jane. He had six half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named Charles, John Thomas, James William, John Thomas, James William, Charles, Polly, Nancy, Rachel, Mary, Sally, Nancy M., Mary Polly, Eleanor and Rachel Sally. He died at the age of 75 on January 6th, 1910 in Tecumseh,Pottawatomie Co.,Oklahoma. He was buried in Tecumseh,Mission Hill Cemetery Plot 19 row 2,Pottatomie Co. Oklahoma.General Notes
