Sally Ann was born on February 5th, 1827. Sally Ann's father is James Pierce and her mother is Elizabeth Skaggs. Her maternal grandparents were William Squire Skaggs and Mary Simpson. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, John, George Washington, Francis Marion, Polly, Nancy and Lydia. She is the youngest of the eight children.-
