Nancy was born on May 6th, 1812 in Green Co.,Kentucky. Nancy's father is James Pierce and her mother is Elizabeth Skaggs. Her maternal grandparents were William Squire Skaggs and Mary Simpson. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, John, George Washington, Francis Marion, Polly, Lydia and Sally Ann. She is the fourth oldest of the eight children.-
