Simon the Crusader was born before 1181 in Montfort Amaury, Ile de France, France.  Simon the Crusader's father was Simon IV de Montfort and his mother was Amice FitzPernel de Beaumont.  His paternal grandparents were Simon the Bold d'Evreux de Montfort and Maud d'Evereux; his maternal grandparents were Robert III FitzPernel de Beaumont and Petronilla de Grentmesnil. He had a brother named Guy de Montfort. He had a half-sister named Bure.  He died on June 25th, 1218 in Killed before the walls of Toulouse.


Simon the Crusader's family with Alix de Montmorency

‌Simon the Crusader and Alix were married in a religious ceremony in 1190.  They had four sons and a daughter, named Amaury, Guy, Robert, Simon VI (Sunon) and Amicia.
