Eliza J. was born on May 8th, 1890 in Ryan, Roane County, Virginia. Eliza J.'s father was Perry G. Shaver and her mother was Mary J. Jennings. Her paternal grandparents were John David Shaver and Nancy Tanner. She had six brothers and a sister, named Ralph, William Millard, Perry Sylvester Bess, Cassiver Walker, Henry Fry, Amos C. and Nancy. She was the youngest of the eight children. She had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named J. William, Clayton, Walter, Samuel, Luella J. and Ida. She died at the age of 99 in 1989 in Kanawha County, West Virginia.-
