Albert Clarence was born on April 13th, 1880 in Morton Township, Tazewell County, Illinois. Albert Clarence's father was Lewis Madden Shaffer and his mother was Sarah Ellen Walden. His paternal grandparents were Christopher Shaffer and Elizabeth C. Cox; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Walden and Sarah A. Hirons. He had a brother and three sisters, named George, Amy, Elsie Maye and Cora Adelia. He was the youngest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Thomas Christopher, Harold Mckinley, Jessica Marie and Lisa. He died at the age of 81 on January 17th, 1962 in Eureka, Woodford County, Illinois. County record lists the birth of a male to Lewis and Ellen Shaffer of
