George Shaffer 
George was born in September 1876 in Morton, Tazewell County, Illinois. George's father was Lewis Madden Shaffer and his mother was Sarah Ellen Walden. His paternal grandparents were Christopher Shaffer and Elizabeth C. Cox; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Walden and Sarah A. Hirons. He had a brother and three sisters, named Albert Clarence, Amy, Elsie Maye and Cora Adelia. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Thomas Christopher, Harold Mckinley, Jessica Marie and Lisa. He died at 7 months old on April 10th, 1877 in Morton, Tazewell County, Illinois. He was buried in Buckeye Cemetery near Morton, Tazewell County, Illinois.General Notes
