Jessie J. was born in March 1884 in Roane County, West Virginia. Jessie J.'s father was Peter Henry Shaver and his mother was Elizabeth Haynes. His paternal grandparents were Paul Shaver and Susan Todd. He had six brothers and three sisters, named William E., Joseph E., Arney A., Lemie Lloyd, Carl R., Otha Clyde, Mamie Artie, Eliza Esteline and Martha R.. He is the third oldest of the ten children.-
