His paternal grandparents were Joseph Kinzer and Emma Crosiar. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Cedric Rawlin, Bruce Prentice, Roy Edward, Robert Bruce, Russell Howard, Dorothy Emma, Pearl Elizabeth, Doris Louise, Jesse May and Emma Zoulieka.
